Imran Jan
"Imran has brought that energy. He is now with franchise cricket for six (6) years and his knowledge is invaluable."
Although making drastic changes to their coaching staff this year, the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) yet again maintained the services of UTT's Imran Jan as their Assistant Coach for a sixth consecutive year. Having won the coveted Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title for the last two (2) years and three (3) years in total, the owners of this cricket franchise thought it best to part ways with their Head Coach Mr. Simon Katich and replaced him with New Zealand's cricketing icon, Brendon Mc Cullum. There was also a change in the bowling coach's department with Trinidad's Kevon Cooper gaining the nod as bowling coach. However, TKR's owners kept faith in Mr. Jan as their preferred choice to work as Mr. Mc Cullum's assistant.
Over the years, Imran has worked tirelessly with TKR, guiding them to four (4) finals in six (6) years and winning the CPL title three of those four times. Apart from his work with franchise cricket, he also worked as Assistant Coach of Trinidad and Tobago's National Senior Team.
At UTT, Imran's main responsibility is that of Senior Sport Officer, which involves him engaging and coordinating sport and recreational activities for UTT's students and staff. However, there's no keeping him away from cricket as he also had stints as Assistant Coach of the UTT High Performance Cricket Team.

Mr. Dwayne Bravo, world renowned cricket player and Captain of the TKR team for the past six (6) years was in high praise of Imran:
"Imran has brought that energy. He is now with franchise cricket for six (6) years and his knowledge is invaluable. He's always positive and has boundless enthusiasm while mentoring most of our young National Cricketers. With his work ethic and experience he can only be an asset to Trinidad and Tobago and by extension, West Indies Cricket."

UTT congratulates Mr. Imran Jan for his and TKR's successes for the last six years of the CPL. We take this opportunity to wish him and the team success in the playoffs this year with the hope that TKR and Imran can capture the title for a third consecutive year.
